CHRISTMAS IS DIFFERENT IN THE CANARY ISLANDS

The most magical time of the year is fast-approaching and the Canary Islands are ideal for a last minute winter-sun break.

Forget Christmas jumpers, Christmas is different in the Canaries.  Expect balmy temperatures of over 20 degrees and plenty of Spanish tradition including delicious local food, turrón (Spanish nougat, the ubiquitous Christmas treat), extravagent nativity scenes displayed in many publc areas and the Three Kings parades on 6 January.

For a fun-fuelled festive escape, Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife is the ideal place to escape the gloomy winter weather and enjoy a festive holiday for all the family in the sunshine. Christmas at Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife officially starts on 7 December with a glistening ceremony to mark the switching-on of the spectacular Christmas tree lights. The hotel also hosts special celebrations for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve, with an ‘Old Havana’ themed party on New Year's Eve including a gourmet ‘wonders of the Cuban sea’ menu.

The most awaited moment of New Year's Eve will come with the traditional clock chimes, which in Spain is celebrated with 12 grapes, one eaten on each chime, and spectacular fireworks marking the end of 2018 and a jubilant start to 2019. Guest at Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife and many other properties throughout the Canary Islands will be able to join in with these traditions and enjoy a unique celebratory island atmosphere.
