CÓRDOBA WILL HOST THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT TOUR OPERATORS IN

The conference, sponsored by the Spanish Tourist Board in London, the Córdoba Tourist Board and the Andalucía Tourist Board, will host about 150 delegates from AITO from June 11-14.

During the event these professionals will carry out several activities, including seminars, conferences and workshops in the newly extended and refurbished Palacio de Congresos de Córdoba in the old town, as well as visits to Córdoba’s main places of interest, as a way to further promote and market the city as a tourist destination.

AITO represents about 160 of the best specialised independent British touroperators offering a very personalised service and serving more than two million customers annually.

Aito chairman Derek Moore said: " Córdoba is an unspoilt gem of a city, often overlooked, with an historic past steeped in the lore of Arabia but just a couple of hours' flying time from the UK. We wanted somewhere with a lot to offer but not as well-known as its near neighbours. It is Spain's best-kept secret."

The 2015 edition will be the fourth time that AITO hold its annual conference in Andalucía. El Puerto de Santa María (2002), Granada (2006) and Seville (2007) were the previous locations chosen by the organisation in the Spanish region of Andalucía.
