HOTELS URSO TO OPEN IN MADRID ON 1 SEPTEMBER

Madrid’s first five-star boutique property, Hotel URSO, will open its doors on 1 September 2014. Set within the walls of a palatial 19th century building, URSO brings a modern perspective to its interior while retaining its neo –classical exterior elegance.

Nestled in between the neighbourhoods of Chamberi, Chueca and Tribunal, URSO is perfectly located for exploring Madrid, from the "golden triangle" of art galleries to the unrivalled nightlife. Foodies can start the day indulging in URSO's room service menu, which includes delicacies sourced from local shops and markets, before stepping out to explore the ever-evolving gourmet scene on offer in the city centre.

Masterminded by architect and designer, Antonio Obrador and General Manager, Pablo Carrington (the team behind sister properties Cap Rocat and Torralbenc in the Balearic Islands), the hotel will boast 78 sleek and ultra-stylish rooms, all decorated with a blend of marble and honey-toned wood, fine fabrics and scattered rugs over the marble floors. Local artisans and craftsmen will be employed as much as possible to enhance the identity of the building, for example in the restoration of forged iron and the 20th century lift within the building. Decorations on the ground floor of the hotel will include wallpaper which has been re-created based on wallpaper found in the palace opposite the hotel and the marble featured throughout the property is traditionally used in Madrid.

URSO will also boast the first branded luxury spa in Madrid with treatments by famous Spanish skincare specialist, Natura Bissé.

Stays at URSO start from €200 per room per night and include breakfast. Stays at the URSO Terrace Suite start from €570 per night including breakfast. www.hotelurso.com
