SEVILLE SET TO HOST THE ANNUAL ABTA TRAVEL CONVENTION

Seville has been selected as the host of this year’s ABTA Travel Convention held from 8-10 October 2018.

Seville is Andalucía’s largest city and its capital. It is renowned for its vibrancy thanks to its passion for traditional flamenco, its rich history, exceptional weather and stunning scenery.

This year’s Travel Convention will be held at the five star Barceló Sevilla Renacimiento hotel located in central Seville. The hotel is the ideal venue thanks to its internal convention centre that is recognised as being one of the best in Seville and is also well known for its architecture that somewhat resembles the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

The ABTA Travel Convention provides delegates with the opportunity for networking and learning and will address the most important current issues impacting travel businesses. Delegates can also enjoy inspiring content from a number of guest speakers such as Bryony Gordon, features writer & columnist at The Daily Telegraph and author of Mad Girl – a memoir about her struggles with mental illness, Sofia Nadal, global customer experience transformation expert at IBM iX who will explore the psychology of shopping and author Dr Paul Redmond who will provide a unique look at the world in which travel organisations will be operating in the future (amongst others). Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in discussion and panels with industry leaders such as Johan Lundgren, CEO at easyjet and Gloria Guevara Manzo, CEO of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).

The ultimate goal is to pose new ideas and approaches to the development and maintenance of travel organisations while adhering to the industry’s values of responsible and sustainable tourism. The Convention is themed to “ensure it carries a consistency of message and relevancy.” Those themes are as follows: Our World, Our Industry, Your Business and Your Network.

The ABTA Travel Convention is one of the biggest in the industry and will also be a great opportunity to showcase the city of Seville to leading UK travel businesses and media.
