SPAIN TALKS AWARDS 2025

THE WINNERS OF THE SPAIN TALKS AWARDS HAVE NOW BEEN ANNOUNCED, SEE THE WINNERS BY CLICKING THIS LINK.

Spain Talks Awards 2025, a rebrand from the Sustainable Media Awards 2024, recognised industry members and travel trade for their work in promoting Spain as a sustainable visitor destination. The awards represent a recognition of excellence and innovation in all facets of sustainability in the tourism sector including social, cultural, economic, and environmental criteria.

The awards were, therefore, expanded to four new categories that highlight and celebrate initiatives that promote responsible growth in the industry. Those categories are:

  • Media Awards (with four subcategories)
  • Ambassador Awards (content creators only)
  • Experience Awards in partnership with Wanderlust.
  • Sustainable Business Award

The Media Awards have been divided into multiple individual subcategory awards recognising the best coverage of Spain as a destination centred around and committed to sustainability, highlighting the importance of communication in promoting responsible practices. These individual categories include:

  • Consumer National Newspaper Tourism Feature of the Year Award (print)
  • Consumer Magazine Tourism Feature of the Year Award (print)
  • Trade Tourism Feature of the Year (print/online)
  • Online Consumer Tourism Feature of the Year Award

The Ambassador Award is a new category that recognised the best influencer or content creator in producing content that highlights Spain as a destination committed to sustainability, underlining the power of these professionals to generate awareness. This new award together with the other Media Award categories represent a chance to celebrate the best efforts of UK media which promote important travel themes looking at social, economic, and environmental sustainability. The stories themselves do not necessarily need to overtly mention “sustainability” but instead are pieces of content which contain themes of responsible and ethical travel. This could be travelling to a lesser-known part of Spain, train travel around the peninsula, or supporting local trade and cultural efforts, to name a few.
