Green Spain Unveils Europe’s Largest Ecotourism Corridor

Green Spain has unveiled its inspiring, new brand La Reserva Ecoturista (Ecotourism Reserve), forging the way for slow, sustainable travel in Europe.

Revitalising the long-standing tourism alliance between Spain’s four northern regions – Galicia, Basque Country, Cantabria, and Asturias – travellers are invited to embark on a leisurely journey along the ecotourism corridor, passing through 25 protected natural areas on the Cantabrian coast.

Involving over 400 public and private stakeholders, this ambitious project aims to fulfil the following objectives:

1)     Promote off-season tourism, as wildlife observation and blossoming seasons take place in autumn and spring.

2)     Endorse rural communities and lodgings involved in the project.

3)     Foster engaging nature and cultural experiences.

A newly launched brand boasting full digital accessibility, the project offers both a website and mobile app (iOS & Android) featuring a catalogue of 118 ecotourism experiences and travel packages across the four territories. From hiking and wildlife observation trails, to stargazing and nature photography, the corridor’s digital platforms enable instant, on-the-go bookings.

The Ecotourism Reserve also manages Instagram, Facebook and YouTube channels to give visitors a glimpse of what’s in store. From deeply rooted traditions such as the Camino de Santiago, to zero-km gastronomy and over 55 Michelin-starred restaurant recommendations, there is something to inspire every taste.

With over 20,000 rural stays and 100+ nature tourism companies, the corridor is a must-visit for travellers seeking authentic, eco-friendly escapes in Spain’s northern jewel.
