Working with Southbank Centre artistic director Jude Kelly, Peña Spanish and African music and dance in a story about a group of African migrants who travel to Spain to find work and the challenges they face.

The show, which first premiered in 2010, has been invited back to Sadler’s Wells and uses the influence of Peña’s experience living in Andalucia, which is known as the gateway to Spain for North African immigrants.

The show highlights the composer’s concerns for the welfare of African immigrants in Spain but shows a glimmer of hope in the resulting cultural exchange between the two groups.
