VUELING AND SONY LAUNCH WORLD'S FIRST WEARABLE BOARDING PASS
Gone are the days of double and triple checking you have your boarding pass - Spanish airline, Vueling, has teamed up with Sony to create a boarding pass application in a smartwatch. This innovative app allows Vueling passengers to carry their boarding pass and all their flight information on their wrists.
Vueling, headquartered in Barcelona, has been working with Sony to develop the app which uses a 2D barcode, exclusive to Sony’s SmartWatch 2, and will be available to download from the Google Play store at the end of this month, placing Vueling and Sony at the forefront of travel technology.
The Spanish airline, founded in 2004, serves over 100 destinations in Africa, Asia and Europe, including direct flights from London (Gatwick / Heathrow) to Barcelona, La Coruña and Bilbao, from Cardiff to Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga and Mallorca, and from Edinburgh to Barcelona.
